Forensic analysis & enhancement of recorded evidence

Our team is expert in:

What our expert team can do

Video photo and audio enhancement does not always work as miraculously as it does on your favorite TV cop shows, but our team often achieves amazing results.

  • We can determine whether a photo or video has been altered.
  • Our digital forensics examiner can determine whether a video is original, or a copy.
  • We can examine video frame-by-frame, looking for clues that could reveal a fake.
  • A computer forensics analyst can examine video format, coding parameters, file structure, metadata such as time and date stamps and more to see if the video depicts something real, or something phony.
  • In many instances, we can identify the source camera used to record a specific image or video.
  • A digital investigation can identify objects in a photo or video. For example, we can help determine if a video shows a specific vehicle or building.
  • A process called forensic photogrammetry can help determine the sizes of objects in a photo or video and the distances between them. Our examiners can use distance and time to calculate the speed of objects in a video. All of this can be of great value in reconstructing the events of a vehicular collision or surveillance footage.
  • We can recover data from a dashboard camera destroyed in a collision.
  • Our experts can work with a wide range of audio and visual recording formats, many of which law enforcement agencies are unable to examine.
  • We can compare voices on recorded material to identify who is speaking.

Work with our experienced audio and video analysts

It seems we are all on camera these days, thanks to surveillance video, smartphones, dashboard cameras, police body cams and more. They are unbiased witnesses, collecting a wealth of evidence. But they don’t always tell a clear story. Technical issues, odd angles, motion blur – all these and more can obscure vital details. This is where the expert investigators at Digital Forensics Corp. come in. They have the tools and talent to clarify and enhance the details of photographic, audio and video evidence.

Audio and video forensics can overcome a variety of common problems

Many things can go wrong when shooting photos or videos:

  1. Hand-held devices often result in shaky video.
  2. Recording from a distance yields low-resolution images.
  3. Fast subjects such as cars or runners often result in a blurred image.
  4. Poor lighting or reflected light in the background can lead to dark, indistinct images.
  5. Background noise and garble can make recorded voices difficult to identify or render words indistinct.

All of these things and more can mean an image fails to capture a person’s face, a vehicle license plate or a traffic sign that could reveal where a photo was taken. It takes an expert digital investigation to unlock the evidence.
